Painted Pines Ranch is nestled in the rolling hills of Southwest Iowa near the small town of Underwood. We have been involved with horses for most of our lives and have recently added showing to our endeavors. Our first show mare, Will Ya Maker Good (born and raised here), earned sixth place at the world show in the Western Pleasure Slot Class. We are very pleased with her and her accomplishment. We are striving to raise more quality show prospects as we continue down our path. The above pictures are just some of the gorgeous animals that we have raised or been blessed to own for a time.
As our grandchildren get older, some are showing interest in these wonderful animals and we hope to foster that interest into a lifetime love. My hope for them is that they can get as much or more from their love of horses. It can and does carry into other aspects of your life. Horses are definately good for the mind, body and soul.
It is with this desire and passion that we strive to produce good minded, talented horses. Horses who will partner with you to accomplish goals in the show ring or on endless open trails.
We hand select our mares for their precise conformation, outstanding dispositions and powerful pedigrees. We believe they are the foundation of a good breeding program. We have daughters of Invitation Only, A Classic Alliance, Gentlemen Send Roses, Time to Zippo and Will Spot Ya. World class stallions are individually selected for their ability to complement each mare.
Our horses thrive on rich green summer pastures. We strive to meet the needs of each horse as they grow. They are cared for with love, proper nutrition, and a guilding hand. They winter graze on large stock fields to keep them conditioned and in excellent health. This is a great way to keep them in shape as they near their foaling dates.
The results are our exceptional foals. Our foals come into this world with a human's gentle touch. They display dynamic and consenting dispositions, exquisite conformation and abundent athletic ability. The fact that they are always gorgeous in color is an added bonus. We raise them with love, discipline, plenty of exercise and good nutrition. Our focus is providing you quality, healthy, gorgeous horses who excel both in and out of the show ring.
